This past weekend we started cleaning out the baby's room. It's been the throw room for so long, I'm finding all kinds of crazy stuff in there. I have a hard time getting rid of stuff that used to have meaning to me. I find it 10-15 years later and its nothing now, but I've kept it this long so why should I get rid of it? Anyway, I did. Well, most of it. Most of the stuff in the room has a place to go to now (mostly Goodwill), its just getting it all in to the car and getting it there.
I can't believe all the crap we still have left to do and have been putting off and putting off and now here we are, 12 more weeks to go. shit. Although, we did get the crib in!! I can't wait to put it together!!! One thing checked off the list, 50,000,000,000,000 more to go!
On a more fun note, the baby has been moving a ton! All kinds of different types of movements. Poking me in places that I don't really like. The other night I felt an actual poke. It wasn't like the normal kids or rubs that I usually get, it was a poke. It felt like Bliss poking me. Now I know the baby's fingers aren't anywhere near the size of Bliss' but thats what it felt like. Maybe an elbow or something.
So when I sleep, I wear as little as possible. Always have. Before I liked being cuddled up under the blankets no matter what time of year. Now, I barely put a sheet on. I tell you this because I learned an important lesson on Friday night, I can't sleep in a 90+ degree house almost 7 months prego, naked or not. I ran home after work to grab some socks to go bowling with some friends. When I walked in, it was 92 degrees inside. I turned off the ac, grabbed my socks, and ran back out the door. I was hoping that since its been so freakin hot (high 90's with a heat index of 105-110) that the unit was working so hard it froze. Bliss had left to go out of town for a guys weekend so I called him on my way to the bowling alley. He told me a few things to check from when the ac broke 2 years ago. I called Mom and she told me some other things to look for. I also called my friend Ashley to see if needed, could I stay at her house that night. Of course being the awesome friend that she is, it was :) Anyway, when about 20 min before I got home, Ashley texted me saying she was going to bed. I got home and turned on the ac. The air felt cooler so I thought I would be ok. I texted Ashley that I wouldn't need her b&b services. I was wrong. I went to bed about 12:30, woke up at 1:30 and realized that the air was cooler because it was moving, not and cooler in temp. I turned the unit back off and tried to fall back asleep. I woke up again at 2:30 hot as hell. I thought about my options and ended up blowing up our air mattress in the kitchen hoping that the small unit we have in the laundry room would cool me some. It was a few degrees cooler, but there was no air movement from a fan and the dogs kept wining because of the big mattress that they were scared of. I was awake till 4:30 trying to cool myself off. I then woke up at 8:30 and knew there would be no going back to sleep.
Ashley called me and invited me to hang at her house in the ac. It was a godsend. We didn't do much, but it was so nice to not be so hot. I ended up staying there Saturday night then when Bliss got home on Sunday, we got a hotel room. The hotel was one of the nicer in town so it was like a little get away for us! This morning Bliss called to some heating/cooling companies and had a guy come out this afternoon. It didn't set us back too much to get it fixed but he did advise that we start saving out pennies. Just what we need, another thing to save our pennies for.
The house is still cooling off but it is SO much better!!
Needless to say, I didn't get the baby's room finished and I didn't get anything done around the house that I wanted/needed to do. BUT I didn't die from heat stroke either :)
