oh yeah!

I have some more news that I forgot to put in the last post...

Last week I found out that I got a promotion!! YAY! Next week I start my training and will start as CSR2 at the end of January.

Merry Christmas!!

I know its a few days late but I've been a busy girl!

The first weekend of the month, we had a little get together to exchange gifts with our friends.

The next weekend was the bachelor/bachelorette party for our friends Jen and Gabe. They guys went down to Tampa and us girls just hung around town. We all had a great time.

The weekend after that was the wedding. It was BEAUTIFUL!!! I was the matron of honor so I was busy girl all weekend. We had such a wonderful time. Jen and Gabe are great for each other and both looked so happy.

That brings us to Christmas. Bliss's parents came up here Christmas eve day. We then left on Christmas day and headed up to Gatlinburg, TN. It was nice to get out of Macon for a long weekend and was really nice to get to spend time with family for the holiday. We didn't think we were going to be able to see anyone since all our vacation time had been used for the honeymoon.

And here we are, time to go back to work. boo. Luckily, we only have a 3 day week then another long weekend!!

Hope everyone had a very merry Christmas!!

When I got home from work today, I found this!!

Bliss and our friend Troy did it :) They were up on the roof in the dark drinking beers. Smart men, but I love them.

1 month

I can't believe its been a month already. Married life just flies by! :)

Our wedding photos came in! They came out great! I'm really happy with them. I'm going to post them on the dotphoto site so check them out. Don't forget to upload yours too. Here are the directions on how to do that. Or you can just look at them here. The password is wedding.

There isn't much new going on here. We are both working like normal. I have been lucky enough to work days for the past 3 weeks. Bliss had to go to Oklahoma City for 1 night but that was it. Same ol' same ol'.

We aren't doing much for Thanksgiving. Since we don't live near anyone and don't have any vacation time, we are going to stay home and celebrate here. We had some friends invite us over, but we decided to just stay home and relax. Because of a lack of observing on my part, we do have some turkey breasts so I may cook those up for us and make a pseudo Thanksgiving meal. We'll see. We have a lot to be thankful for this year. We have great family, amazing friends and each other. What else could two people want?

Hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving!! Eat some turkey for me!! :)

We're Home!!

We got home from our honeymoon yesterday. We had a great time and got to relax a bit. But...let me start from the beginning!

The wedding was great! We had such a great time!! Here are a few photos that got uploaded to the photo sharing website we set up. If you have any other photos, here are instructions to upload them to the site. You can just look at more here. The password is wedding.

We stayed in a wonderful bed and breakfast, The Venetian Mansion, here in Macon on our wedding night. It was great. I would highly recommend it. The owners were so sweet and the breakfast was yummy!

The next night we stayed at the The Glenn in Atlanta. It was nice, but we weren't super impressed with it. The other places we stayed were comparable in price and much nicer. We did have a great view out of our window.

We then went up to Cloudland Canyon State Park. The original plan was to camp for 3 nights but it was FREEZING (literally) and we slept in long johns the first night. The next morning, at 10:30, it was 24 with the windchill. What the hell kind of honeymoon is spent in long johns? :) So, we got a cabin for the next two nights. It was beautiful. We will be going up there again sometime when it isn't so cold. We drove around explored the 2nd day.

On Thursday we moved on to Chattanooga. We went to Rock City, Ruby Falls, and the Incline Railway. It was really cool. Its amazing how nature does such beautiful things. We then checked in to The StoneFort Inn. It was awesome. The people were so nice. Breakfast was included and was really good. Again, highly recommended.

We went to the Aquarium on Friday and acted like kids. I love aquariums!! Friday night we had a fancy dinner then took a relaxing soak in our outside tub.

Saturday we got up and headed home. The trip was easy and didn't take long at all. We had such a great time and I saw a bunch of places I want to explore next time we go back. I'm not sure why we haven't gone before. I love Chattanooga.

Now, back to the same ol' life, just as Mrs. Jourdan now :)

ITS COMING!!

Our wedding I mean :) 10 more days! I'm getting excited for the big day and all of that, yet a little nervous when I look at the list of what I have to do. I'm sure it will all come together. Bliss' mother and grandmother will be here on Monday then my mom, sister & family, father and step mother, grandmother, 2 aunts and an uncle will be here on Thursday. So there will be plenty of help for last minute things. Of course I have my friends too. They are always willing to help me out. They are great friends.

Last weekend was Bliss' bachelor party. He and some of his friends went to Destin, FL to go deep sea fishing. He had a great time. My party is this weekend. We are going up to Atlanta and going out to a club. I'm excited! I plan on having a great time. :)

Only 2 more days of work this week, then 2 days next week, then I'm off! I don't have to be back to work till November 3rd! YAY!

Alright, off to scratch some things off my list!

My GA Shower

I never wrote about my GA shower!! I it was great. I love my friends. It wasn't nearly as large as the LA shower, but it was lots of fun. My mom was there so that was great. She and Jeff came up for the weekend. We did lots of running around so I don't think it was very relaxing for them but it was nice all the same. I got some good gifts and we played some fun games. Mom felt the need to tell everyone some embarrassing stories which some people are still making fun of me about. The best part was just sitting around talking with everyone and hanging out.

Here is a pic of me and my mum

Me and my shower hosts

Me and all my food

And one of Shannon cause I think its a cute pic :)

I think there are some more posted on that wedding photos website on the side of this page. If not, I'll get some up there soon. Hope all is well!

Some pics are up!

I added a link over on the right where you can see the photos from our different wedding events. Right now, its just the pics from our LA shower but I'll add some more after my Macon shower this weekend. I'm excited for it! If you have any photos that you want to add:

choose the album you want to add to
Click add
choose the photos you want to upload
click upload

Its that easy! Hope you enjoy them!

My mom and Jeff are coming up this weekend. Bliss' parents had talked about it but they are waiting to see what happens with the storm. stupid hurricanes.

My friend Jamie came to stay with me tonight. It makes me happy when she stays here :) She's staying tonight for work reasons but sometimes when Bliss is gone, she stays more. She says for convenience for her, but I think she knows I don't like staying alone. She's a good friend like that. So that you'll know who I'm talking about, here's a few pic of me & Jamie at Ashley's shower. The first one was in the beginning and the second near the end. We had a good time, can you tell? ;)

Speaking of Bliss being away, he's leaving again. Oklahoma City for 2 days then to Salt Lake City for a week. I hope it doesn't keep up with this 2 weeks home, 2 weeks gone crap.

That's it for now. Have a good night!

Our LA Trip

We had such a good time in Louisiana!

I made it to the airport on time to pick Bliss up, but missed him when he walked pass me so we both stood around for awhile till I called him. I guess I wouldn't be a good stalker. Anyway, we got on the road and made it all the way to Mobile. Stayed in a shady hotel off I-10. I woke up nice and early the next morning but since Bliss was still asleep, I went to Winn-Dixie and walked around for awhile. When I got back, I realized I didn't have a key so I had to wake him up anyway. Oh well. We had to get on the road anyway.

We made it to Covington in time for lunch and got some po'boys with Vicki. God I love the french bread in LA. That night we went to a casino and lost some money. It was fun, just neither of us were having any luck.

Saturday we didn't do a whole lot. Just hung around till the shower. The shower was great. I got to meet lots of his family that I didn't know before and catch up with those I had met. The food was spectacular! So yummy. Bliss' uncle Rob did all the food and it was amazing. We also got lots of gifts. Everyone was so generous and we were so excited to get so much! Unfortunately, the storm was coming so lots of people weren't there and lots left early.

Sunday morning we got up bright and early to begin our trip home. First we were planning on coming home on Monday, then changed to Sun afternoon due to the storm, then Sun morning. Thank god we did. Since the interstates were going in one direction, we had to take some back roads to get to where we could get on the interstate to get home. The trip was only about 50 miles longer, but it took us 13 hours to get home. oh my god i was so ready to get out of the car when we got here!

Thats about it for our labor day weekend. Overall, a great weekend. Did you guys do anything fun?

I'm getting excited!!

Just running around this morning trying to get everything together so that I can leave right after work tomorrow. We are off to Louisiana for our couples shower! yay! I was able to switch hours with someone and was able to get some personal time approved so I am working 8:30-2:00! Bliss doesn't know it yet, but I'm going to be able to meet him when he gets off the plane instead of him having to sit around for 3 hours. Here is a pic of him I took just before we left the house last week. Even at 5 am, he's still a cutie :)

I had a great weekend this past weekend. Went to see Mandi and James and their new house, which by the way, is a kick ass house. We also went to a Falcons pre-season game then out for drinks and eats after. The next morning we went and got some breakfast that we super yummy.

Mandi & James at the game
Me and Mandi at the game

Me and James the Saturday morning

Then Saturday night, I went and saw Jen's and Lisa's new houses. Super cute houses. They then saved me and helped me get all the invites almost done. Jen came over again on Monday night and helped finish them up so they went out in the mail Tuesday morning. Its a great feeling having them done and gone. Its getting so close!!

Off to get ready for work. Hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend!!

Bliss is leaving me again :(

Not much has happened around here. Bliss' parents didn't come up the other weekend, which is fine because I didn't have to clean the house again :) Our friend Denorris is a truck driver and was coming though Macon the other day so he stopped and spent the night with us. It was great to see him. Then Darnell came up last night to hang out and pick up some stuff Bliss had. It was great to see him as well. We hung out for a bit after I got off work then the boys started watching stupid geek stuff on tv so I went in the other room and did some wedding stuff. I can't believe its almost time to send out the invites!! They should be going out next Monday. Lets hope I can get my shit together and get them out on time!

So Bliss is leaving again. Tomorrow morning he is headed off to Utah for 2 weeks. I hate it when he leaves. It just throws off my daily schedule. At least it will give me some time to work on the invites. The sucky part is that he will be coming home next Thursday then we are leaving that night for New Orleans for our couples shower that his aunt and uncle and good friends of the family are throwing. I can't wait!

Let me go spend some time with my boy. Hope everyone is doing well.

what a weekend

This weekend was the first weekend that I really got my two days off in a row since I was about to start class when my schedule change went in to effect. I had big plans and was very excited. All that was smashed when we woke up Friday morning to an 85 degree house.

Our AC had died.

Bliss had to go to work and since I don't know anything about AC's, I thought maybe it had froze over (I've heard people say this before but I'm not completely sure what it means) so I turned it off and left for the day. It was a beautiful day with the heat index at just over 100. Perfect day for no AC. I figured Bliss could fix it when he got home.

Now, mind you, Friday was also Bliss' birthday. I needed to go get the stuff to make his birthday dinner and cake, clean up the house because his mom is coming up next weekend and its nasty, and get some stuff done for the wedding. Instead, I went out to lunch with some friends. We went to a new bbq place here called Sticky Fingers. Very yummy. Then I called Ashley to see if I could make the cake at her house. Our oven was cheap so it heats up the whole house when you turn it on and my house was already hot enough. Anyway, Bliss got home and discovered he couldn't fix it and it would cost over $100 per hour to have someone come out and look at it. Needless to say, I did not make him his special birthday dinner. We went to Zaxby's, a little better than fast food chicken place. Andrew and Ashley had gone to their parents for the night so we went and stayed at their house. They are way too good to us.

Saturday was a little more fun. We got up and went car shopping. We traded in Bliss' Mazda and got me a new to me 2002 Ford Escape XLT. Very cute and fun to drive. Since its an SUV, I'm driving it back and forth to work since I have 8 mile commute and Bliss is going to be driver the Lancer. We dropped our payment by about $200 and got a good chunk of change back which we thought would be great since our house was now a sauna.

We stayed with Andrew and Ashley again Sat night. Lucky for us, Ashley's father has an AC business in Atlanta. Obviously he wasn't going to send anyone down to us, but he did have some guys working about 100 miles south of us so when they came though on Sunday, they stopped by and looked at the AC unit. We knew that they wouldn't be able to fix it, but they could tell us what was wrong so we wouldn't get screwed by whoever we got to fix it. They had FANTASTIC news! It was just a small part. Bliss called around and found a guy that had the part. Bliss drove over to the guys house, paid the guy 40 bucks for the thing, came home and fixed it!! I knew I was marrying him for some reason!! :) We are back at our house tonight with the AC blowing nice and hard.

What a weekend. Didn't even really feel like we had one. Now, my house is still a mess and still needs to be cleaned by this weekend. But at least I have AC! Want to come help clean? ;)

Hope everyone's weekend was less eventful then mine!

movin' on up

After two weeks in class, I passed my adjusters exam! I now know too much about insurance. Since the test is a state test, it wasn't just for auto but all different types of policies. Do any of you know about a boiler and machinery policy? Cause I do. Well, since I passed the test, I can now post for the next step up on the claims ladder. I'll keep you posted on how that goes.

Same ol' same ol' for Bliss. His birthday is this weekend. His parents might be coming up for it so that will be nice. We haven't seen them since Christmas 06 so its about time!

Wedding planning is coming along. So much more to do. I just need to get on it. I'm not too worried about it...yet :) I need to print out the invites soon so they can go out at the end of the month. I can't believe its that close. I can't wait :)

Hope everything is going well with you and yours!

Great Times!

There have been some great things going on for me. First, I found out last weekend that I was selected to go to get my adjusters license! Provided that I pass the test, I will get a raise and also be able to apply for the next step up the Claims ladder. I'm going to be in class for the next two weeks and I'm really excited about it!

Because I'm going to be in class, my schedule worked out that I got a three day weekend so I went down to see my mom. It was great to see her and Julie. Julie was so generous and gave me her slip, bra, and veil from when she got married. I tried it all on at her house and danced around her living room for awhile looking like a dork but felt so much like a bride, I couldn't help myself. Mom and I got to do some shopping and visiting. I wish I lived closer to her. Our shopping was to find her a mother of the bride dress, but we didn't find anything. On the other hand, I got a few cute things. :) I found these beauties for Mom, but she wasn't feeling it.

But the BEST part was that I got some wedding gifts!! YAY! Christina got us the grill we had registered for. She wanted us to be able to use it this summer. I know you aren't supposed to use wedding gifts before hand...but hey, Bliss and I are superstitious people so I plan on making some bbq chicken tomorrow night! We also got our luggage from Mom. I'm excited to have good luggage now! AND Julie and Jane bought us our new sleeping bag for my shower since they wont be able to make it. Then to top all that off, when I got home, my wedding ring had arrived! Its great!

I'm off to bed now. I have to get up at a normal person's work day time and its going to kick my ass. Hopefully I'll stay awake tomorrow! Wish me luck in class!!

busy busy busy

Sorry its been so long since I posted last. Ashley and Andrew got married on Saturday so we were very busy with that. It was a beautiful wedding. The weather worked out for them so they were lucky and got the have the ceremony outside. I dropped Andrew's ring as I was giving it to the pastor and the unity candle wouldn't light...but other than that, it went off with out a hitch! They are currently sunning their butts in Jamaica, lucky ducks.

Now, its time to get serious on our wedding. Tomorrow it will be 4 months!!! I have so much to do. I recently got in the material for our invitations and finalized our wording. I just need to figure out where I can print them for cheap. I also have pretty much the layout of the program done, just need to choose our music and stuff like that. I made a few calls today about the rehearsal dinner, cake, food and seamstress for my dress. Hopefully they will all get back to me and have the answers that I want! :) I also made a map with the important locations on it and put the link on our wedding page. When I list it all out like that, it makes me feel like I've done a lot, but I still feel way behind. If I could get a caterer booked, I would feel much better. Maybe I'll just be cooking the week before...I can make a pretty tasty chicken parm. We'll see.

Off to try to convince Bliss to go to the tux store....wish me luck!

little bit of everything.

so the save the dates went out on time. i was pleased with myself. i finally got the contact for the hotel so thats taken care of. i'm waiting on the dj to send me a contract then we will have that. i talked to the tent guy and tents are WAY more expensive then i thought so we'll have to see about that. i've figured out what i want to do for the invites so thats the next big project but i still have some time for those. bliss and i went to lowes to see if we could register there, but decided not to. there are only a few items we need from there and they aren't really things you can ship or bring on a plane with you so there really isn't a need to. gift cards to lowes or home depot will still be much appreciated! i think thats it for wedding stuff...i need to start talking to caterers.

bliss is coming home friday night so i'm excited about that. then sat night i have ashley's bachelorette party which i am excited about as well. i went out and bought some stuff for her for the night. hehe. it should be fun. i didn't go over board though...she told me she didn't want any flopping penises or anything like that. too bad.

my mom recently got a new job. i talked to her yesterday, after her first day, and she said it was boring cause all she did was read, but its m-f and daytime hours so it will be much better then what she has been doing! alex, my nephew, broke his tooth and had to have it removed to day, poor baby. christina said he was doing well so thats good.

i think thats it. hope everyone is having a good week!

We Registered!

On Sunday we went to Target and registered there then I went to Bed Bath & Beyond on Tuesday and registered for some more stuff. It was lots of fun! I was told by my sister, Christina, that her friends were not impressed with my Target registry, so I guess I need to go back and add some more to that. We're waiting till we get our dining room set from Bliss' parents before we register for that stuff since we don't know how big it is or anything. I think we are also going to register at Home Depot or Lowes but Bliss needs to be around for that.

I'm working on the save the dates. My goal is to get them out in the mail on Tues, so we'll see. I'm not sure how to get the holes in the middle so I'm off to Michael's tomorrow to see what I can find.

crappy work schedules

I'm a little upset. Bliss' parents were supposed to be coming up next week and I was really excited to see them. Now, Bliss is going to be out of town for work so they aren't going to come. Its really too bad because we haven't see them since Christmas 06. Hopefully they will get to come up some other time. Like I said, Bliss is traveling to Oklahoma next week. There is a possibility that he will be going to Utah for 2 weeks after that. Its weird...there isn't anyone traveling at his work for months, then they send everyone away for a long time. Why can't they spread it out a bit more? I don't mind it all that much when hes gone. I mean I miss him, but its not that big of a deal, but I don't know how I feel about him being gone for 3 weeks straight. :(

Oh a happier note, we booked our reception location. Its going to be at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame. I'm excited about it! I know we really aren't sports people, but we thought it would be fun to be able to walk around and see everything. I also have my photographer now and the name of the DJ we hope to use. It all seems to be coming together.

Now for our wedding!

Today was Ashley's shower. I think it went pretty well. There were about 15 people here. Good thing there weren't many more because my house is a little small. But now that is over and the house is done, we can really start planning our wedding! I need to find a reception location so that is the next thing on the list. Hopefully I'll be able to find something next week and get it booked. Next weekend we're going to go register! YAY! I can't wait for that! Also, I need to talk to some hotels and get some rooms blocked off so I can put that in the save the dates. Those need to go out over Memorial Day weekend. Goodness there is lots to do.

The house is done!!!

This weekend Bliss and I **finally** finished the house!! We've lived in it for over a year and half and just now finished all the painting. I know, I know...its sad. We had most of it done. A few months ago I finally got a hair on my ass and got started. Two friends of ours, Jen & Gabe, came over one day and helped Bliss and I some. Then a couple weeks ago, Jen and my friend Ashley came over and helped me finish up almost everything. We painted until 2 am! Talk about some damn good friends. When we took the tape off in the red dining room, it took off all the paint so we had a ring of white up buy the ceiling. Oh was I pissed. But now that is fixed and we touched up a few other places that were looking nasty since the rest of the paint in the house is a year and a half old now. and its done!! Once I get it all cleaned up I'll post some pics of it.

This weekend I'm throwing a bridal shower for Ashley. Hence the rush to get the house done :) I'm excited about it! I hope that its a good one for her. Still trying to come up with games to play. I'm excited about being in her wedding too. The dress she picked out is great. And Bliss and I are both in her wedding, me the maid of honor and Bliss the best man, so we get to walk down the aisle as a test run...cool huh?

Our wedding plans haven't progressed much. I need to find a place for us to have the reception that will fit in to our budget and fit about 100 people. I'm going to call a few places tomorrow and see what I can find. Wish me luck!!

Welcome!!

Welcome to our blog! I know it says the Jourdan family and I'm not part of the family yet but we wanted to make a page so we could keep everyone up to date with all that is going on in our lives. So, for now, the Jourdan family includes Bliss and the dogs. Gizmo and I are still on our own :)

Since this is to keep everyone up to date, let me do a quick over view of our lives just to bring you all up to speed. Bliss and I bought a house in September 2006. We're still working on it, but as everyone knows who has a house, the work in never done. Bliss is working as with a company that does contract work for the Air Force. The job isn't very demanding and he gets to travel some so its a pretty nice gig. I'm working at GEICO in the claims department. I like it for the most part and I get to hear some interesting stories. The animals are doing good. Radley had some seizures but we put him on some supplements and he seems to be better. Luna is still doing some puppy stuff so I'm ready for that to be over, but over all is a super sweet dog. Gizmo is Gizmo. Typical cat who wants everything on her terms. As you may already know, Bliss asked me to marry him last week. We have set the date of October 25, 2008. We have picked the location, Washington Park in downtown Macon. Nothing else has really been planned yet.

So that's it, our life in a nut shell. With all of our family living a good distance from us, its hard to keep everyone up to date. I hope this blog helps with that. I'm going to do my best to keep it up to date. Please leave us comments and let us know whats going on in your lives too!!

Love
Becca & Bliss
